When looking for the truth and having to pick between a conspiracy theory and anything coming out of government collective mouths I will always pick a conspiracy theory because all politicians and their lackies are bald face liars
What a difference a decade makes in the acceptance of lies! It makes the head spin that sexuality is accepted as transmutable by the naive populace.
Mostly provoked by Obama's 2 pet-projects--race and sexuality where the poisonous lies of political correctness infiltrated these cultural issues, slowly and deviously damaging the brain's ability to think. Do we have blindness and brain damage? Sure, but medication will not help.
Yes, I to am proud of the label "Conspiracy Theorist". But there is a label I am even prouder of. I have been "excommunicated" from the "Catholic Church". Not that a mere priest has any authority to excommunicate anybody- although he can deny sacraments to a public sinner. But they don't do that anymore. The bishop would promptly cancel such a priest for sinning against "ecumenism" and "inclusion".
When it comes to the whole cancel culture, the seculars took their cue from the Conciliar Church which was practicing that policy decades ago. When Archbishop Lefebvre consecrated four bishops in 1988 so that after his death priests would continue to be ordained to say the Traditional Mass, Pope JP2 the Great claimed he was excommunicated by virtue of canon law and that was that. No possibility of appeal by the Archbishop; no canonical trial. Nope. You're out, and that's that. If you brought up the subject with a diocesan bishop, he would tell you that Archbishop Lefebvre and all the "Lefebvrites" are "out of the church". And that's that. It's a doctrinal/mystery thing. You wouldn't understand. Just accept the supreme pronouncement of the supreme leader, and be on your way.
You can go to the church down the street where every practice- communion in the hand, communion under both kinds, lay ministers of communion, female acolytes- condemned by the Council of Trent is on full display. No problem. You can go to a "Mass" where the priest is completely creative and just makes it up as he goes along while scantily clad women gyrate- er, liturgical dance- in the background. No problem. But don't you dare go to what was in the Churches before the "reforms of Vatican II" came to town. No. To do that is schismatic and disobedient.
Oh, and if you point out the blatantly obvious well... you're just a Conspiracy Theorist.
I've read in multiple places that the term "conspiracy theory" was invented in the wake of the JFK assassination to silence opinions and has been effective at doing so ever since. That -- prior to that -- so-called "conspiracy theories" were a normal part of understanding a hopelessly complex and uninformed existence.
That said, I will also point out that plenty of so-called "conspiracy theories" really are just the natural consequences of mathematical/system truth playing out. Sure, there have been rich and powerful people aware of these truths, using their clout to either spur them along or mitigate them for a bit, but some things are just a function of feedback loops with long delays and time.

They are not necessarily lying. Many of them are just stupid, and actually believe the nonsense they are spewing.

Good points, guest1.6. Thanks!

How to discern between the two? Eh, I don't. :)
