I live in Baltimore, so I know what those Freddie G. riots were like. Freddie was a thug criminal with a long wrap sheet. I am not saying that the Baltimore City police are angels, but not all of them are bad or corrupt. If I am pulled over by an officer, I am polite and do what they ask me to do. I don't run, try and steal their gun or taser. I don't reach into their car and try to pull them out of the car. Like you pointed out Don, there are real cases of police brutality, why doesn't the media pick those cases to show and tell? Freddie G. was a terrible case to highlight police brutality. Our City States Attorney, Marlyn Mosbsy, actually brought charges against 5 of the arresting officers. All were found not guilty and it destroyed her career, along with some illegal things she did while in office. We all know that Baltimore has been Democratic run for a century. Guess whose family ran this city back in 60's? Pelosi, enough said. In the past 15 years things have gone from bad to worse in a once beautiful city. The liberal "soft on crime" policy has killed Baltimore.

Don you bring up good points, why do rioters destroy their own neighborhoods?

There were many out of town rioters and agitators here during the Freddie G riots.

The city area lost food stores, clothing stores, and their drug stores. Maybe if the rioters would go to the upper class areas and the politicians were affected in a negative way, they would actually do something to stop the violence.

Qualified Immunity and Sovereign Immunity are the real culprits. LE in many situations are literally 'above the law'. Historically the whistleblowers pay the price for exposing state crimes: Drake, Binney, Kiriakou, Winner, many others. Snowden would be behind bars if he hadn't chosen to NOT follow whistleblower protocol like the others, he knew where that would lead. These are just examples at the National/Federal level. It's shits and giggles all the way down.

No real "free" country would allow QI, SI, plea bargaining, illegal surveillance, evidence suppression, witness suppression, etc. The list goes on, and on.

You originally wrote this ten years ago, it's only gotten worse.

The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. - Orwell
