It's somewhat of a comfort to know I'm not alone in experiencing the same issues you described in your post. One can track the down-trending service levels over the decades. Since the creation of voicemail and phones made with digital parts, humanity has been removed from government and companies' methods of communication with the public. I long for the days when a receptionist answered the phones and either wrote a message on little pink message slips or found the intended person I was calling. Now, we are put in a waiting cue and forced to listen to someone else's version of music. I swear it was designed, so you hang up. If you're lucky, you get a message of how many are ahead of you waiting for service.
All the tech people tell us that new technology is more efficient. My question is, efficient for whom? Indeed, not the public. I'm still fuming that I must put my groceries on the cashier's countertop and then bag my purchases. And this is in the full-service line.
I'm old enough to remember when someone pumped your gas for you, Phil. The fact no company markets themselves as "no automated menu," which would draw business to them, shows you that they all adhere to John D. Rockefeller's credo that "competition is a sin." I remember receptionists fondly. Who weren't stationed in India. Thanks!
It’s always a pleasure to read your articles. Even though they deal with hard truths. You are blessed with a gift to express yourself intelligently, with humor, and down to earth simplicity of speech.
It took me 20 months, after 6 attempts with the Cardiology Dept. of the Washington DC Veterans Hospital, to get the video of my cardiac catheterization procedure done 10/20/22. Why? They only showed me a still image of a blockage after the procedure. Before the procedure, they told me I could watch the video live. That did not happen. Why? During the procedure, I did not even feel any sensation in my arm. So I’m not even convinced they actually did the cardiac cath. procedure or placed a stent in my right coronary artery.
Because of who I am, a former Marine, a patriot, an outspoken free-thinking activist, who fights against government and medical tyranny, I suspect they may have simply wanted to scare me, or by habit get me on atorvastatin and clopidogrel meds, which the surgeons and my VA doctor insisted I take. I rejected the pharma meds with nasty side effects. I’m taking natural alternative supplements. I took none of the Covid death shots, and no longer trust the VA, which pushed them long after dangers were known, and continually push vaccines along with the pharma meds. They may have seen this: http://issuesoutline.org/#covid19fraud
After the last 4 1/2 years, anybody who still trusts the medical establishment Is sleeping. They’re being financially incentivized to kill us . Now, if I can only find an honest, free thinking doctor not tied to the pharmakeia sorcerers.
No need to apologize Don. In America 2.0 we are under continuous attack, and this was even before DEI was implemented.
This week, while dealing with Hurricane Helene, it's massive flooding, electric outage and ISP outage, someone hacked my Amazon account and went crazy. (3 guesses who my ISP is). Hours spent on the phone with "Customer Service" in the Philippines and India. No matter how hard I try, I can't understand a friggin' word they say. I know it's futile to complain and it does make a person weary.
A horrifying story well told. I understand what you are going through. I've been some of those places too. The call centers and the disgusting incompetence and clueless, uncaring, stupid people and all really that you wrote about. I'm sorry about your brother. Grief, at least for me, never really goes away. For all the things that I should have done and said and asked and didn't.
As always I enjoyed your essay. As a retired civil servant I am fairly sure the people you were talking to were contractors. For every civil servant there were 20 contractors where I worked. However the contract with the company providing those services was written by the government and metrics concerning the service they are providing should be recorded. So obviously someone in the government is not doing their job. Also the federal government pays contract workers reasonable wages so there is no excuse for surliness and disrespect. I am sorry about your brother. I am watching my younger brother self destruct on alcohol and drugs. His encounters with the justice system are eye opening. I am trying to be patient with him so I appreciate the reminder. God bless you and your readers
Would seem that we just went through the mother of all false flags – a global fake pandemic featuring a fake virus. Unless the next one involves a neighbor in our galaxy, it would seem that Convid can’t be topped. Or is that precisely what you’re thinking there, WW? As in, alien invasion? Many people are certainly dupes for the alien nonsense, so perhaps that would indeed be the next “logical” psyop in the queue. Is that what you are referring to?
The "Global Fake Pandemic" was just a Beta Test, a carefully orchestrated event which most of the Sheeple passed with flying colors because they refused to question the narrative lest they lose their cinchy jobs and their happy-fluffy existence.
While Project Blue Beam is a possibility, what seems much more likely is the Universal Day Of Chaos, when the Smartphone Explodes, the Lights go Out, the Pumps Stop, and the ATM card no longer works. The SHeeple them will battering down the gates of FEMA camp so they can Imbibe Hostess Twinkies, Watch PornHub, and SHop on Amazon. They will trade their cash for CBDCs and Special Drawing Rights. They will be Vaxxed and Chipped and Cataloged. In short, they will take the Mark of the Beast.
It was like this in DC when I worked there in 1990 and those surly women figured the dumb white lady with smarts, class, and professionalism wouldn't fit into their snarky world. As for the DMB oh I mean V, and other agencies, it's something you have to really gear up for just to get a live person who speaks distinctly and English or a place in the vast line at those places filled with....I won't go into it here but use your imagination. It's just so disgusting and also amazing. Who could be in charge of these places? Where is civility. Where is common sense>? I feel for you and also for those of us older people now who were "somebody" being treated with impatience and disregard quite often. It is pretty true that older women are invisible unless perchance they see a young picture or know "who" you are. Judgmental based on....?
Its too bad that those who hold government jobs don't realize, or appreciate, that their paycheck comes from us. They want all those who supported these systems by force to die off so they can gift away those dollars to illegals and/or other nefarious activities. As I have stated before, the illegals may think they are the frosting on the cake, but one day, they too will have to face all this agony.
I don't even blame incompetence anymore, its being done on purpose. Just like a bratty spoiled little child who screams and cries until they get their way. They want us to just give up.
A couple of days ago, I watched a video regarding these older folks who were living in a mobile home community. They owned their homes but rented the property it sat on. Now, a bigger financial operation came in and bought up the community, increasing the monthly exponentially so these people are now being forced to move. My bet is they will end up on the streets unless a family member can take them in. No doubt these homes will be used to house illegal aliens for mere pennies on the dollar and their rents will fall on the rest of us tax payers.
Your brother Ricky must certainly forgive you. Its very sad that we have to deal with such horrible services for all the years we contributed, that in time of need, we are treated like such trash. It is getting worse by the day.
I hope that those who setup these rigged systems die a miserable death and burn in Hell. Their lives of luxury do not last forever. They don't have a care in the world that God is watching, and taking notes.
Don, I was thinking about your brother the other day. I was flooded with RAGE. God damn them. My wife just went through the SS thang. A lot like you described it. Her problem was they had her birthday wrong so that had to be corrected in person. It was a three and a half hour wait to see a person. Outside a cigarette fire started in the trash can. Security went out and poured water on it. She said the security guards know everything. She said you can ask them any SS question and they have an answer. I'm up next month at age 64. I guess I'm retired.

I pretty much do not go to self checkout stores of any kind. I will do without before enduring that torture.

I appreciate that, Mark. I've heard so many horror stories about VA "treatment" of veterans. If only you were an illegal immigrant. Thanks, my friend!
My late uncle was happy with the one in Redlands, Ca but otherwise, I've heard the same stories also.
Hang in there, from a fellow Marine C 1/9

It does make you weary, Liber8or. Sorry you had to deal with the effects of the hurricane. Thanks.
The only good part of that is, they seem nicer and try to help you understand as frustrating as it is.

Good point, Dennis. Thanks!
Somehow I recall reading all this before, and commenting on what a Banana Republic we live in- that has no bananas.
I have not had to deal with a gov't agency for 12 years now. And in the last 30 years I have dealt with the gov't twice.
And I closed my last bank account in 1993. It has been cash since then .
And now, we are very, very close to the Mother of All False Flags.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope!
You probably did read this before, WW. I use this Substack to post older, previously published articles. Thanks.
This post was not that much older...

I was amazed I was able to apply online, and actually have been getting my money. The system is ridiculous. Thanks, my friend.
