Spot on. As has been said numerous times since the Woke usurpation, Orwell was meant to be a warning, not a blueprint.

Supporting free speech is not a mental illness, supporting woke, liberal ideas, that make zero common sense is a mental illness.

👏👏👏 A stupendous article that every American needs to read especially right now, Mr. Jeffries! This is no April Fools Day joke, folks! Free speech is under attack right now from the left, the right, the government, and corporate America! The first amendment is arguably the most important right we have got as Americans! But many don’t have an appreciation for and try to find artful ways to get around it.

Your absolutely spot-on in calling out both liberals and conservatives for their opposition to free speech when it’s speech they don’t like. The right wants to censor anything deemed to be “antisemitic” which is overly broad. What do we mean by antisemitic? Does that include criticism of Israel? Look, I’m a liberal Zionist and proud supporter of Israel and I detest legitimate antisemitism but I also support Palestinian liberation and am a free speech absolutist. I oppose any attempt to ban Pro-Palestine or Pro-Hamas protests or the BDS Movement. I also detest the banning of the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land from streaming in America. I also oppose the deportation of Mahmoud Khalil. Everyone no matter how disgusting their views might be is entitled to speak!

I’m not particularly fond of Kanye West but he has a right to his beliefs. His social media accounts should not be taken down because they are deemed to be “harmful.” There are in fact a significant number of individual Jews in prominent positions in certain industries and fields. It is NOT antisemitic to point this out nor does it mean your trying to imply some sort of antisemitic conspiracy theory. I bear absolutely no animosity in my heart towards the American Jewish community and I would wager Mr. Jeffries doesn’t either. Just as it is not racist to point out the majority of NFL and NBA players are black.

The left’s censorship is also ridiculous! Hate speech is such a once again, overly broad term. Literally anything could qualify as hate speech. Would that include wearing Redskins gear? Stating there are only two genders? Waving a Confederate flag? Telling an edgy joke? There is no definite definition of this term. That is why ALL hate speech laws must be done away with!

I like the many examples you provided of times throughout our history that free speech has been violated in America. One could go all the way back to 1798 with John Adams’ Alien and Sedition Acts. Abraham Lincoln threw Southern sympathizers including Francis Scott Key’s grandson, in jail, suspended habeas corpus and shut down numerous newspapers. Woodrow Wilson passed the Espionage and Sedition Acts and threw radical leftists like Eugene V. Debs, Kate O’Hare and the members of the IWW into prison for opposing U.S. entry into World War I. If you have not read Adam Hochschild’s outstanding book “American Midnight” on the subject, pick it up today! It’s incredibly eye-opening! The second Bush administration passed the PATRIOT Act in 2001 allowing the government to read your emails, texts and calls and ran a torture program at Guantanamo Bay.

Many of those brought to Gitmo were actually innocent people captured by bounty hunters looking to make a quick buck. George W. Bush,

Dick Cheney and the late Donald Rumsfeld

tortured these folks in the name of national security and preventing a future terrorist attack only to not get any valuable information and stain America’s image in the world. Torture will get to you compliance NOT cooperation! The person being tortured will tell you whatever you want to hear to make it stop but they won’t tell you the truth. Lastly, how about the government trying to arrest Edward Snowden or the prosecution of Julian Assange by the Obama, Trump and Biden administrations? Whistleblowers to this day have few legal protections and are prosecuted quite harshly. I could also mention Richard Nixon and his administration going after Daniel Ellsberg and ordering the NY Times and the Washington Post to not print the Pentagon Papers.

As to Holocaust Denial, in Germany and France where it is banned Holocaust Denial is all over the place and Neo-Nazi groups and far-right parties have a good-sized following and are getting a high percentage of votes. Meanwhile in the United States where Holocaust Denial is legal, it is seen as a ridiculous, fringe belief system and Neo-Nazis and far-right parties have few members, are seen as kooks and nutcases and don’t have any political power at all. I agree with you about Ernst Zundel. Much as I find his views sickening, he should not have been arrested and put in jail. Same with the once prominent historian David Irving who I think has been treated and judged too harshly by society. I think you defending Mr. Zundel shows how principled as a civil libertarian you are Mr. Jeffries. You should be able to deny anything you want in a free society.

When the hubris of the states goes into "Monarch Mode" then the "free speech" zones are limited to either prisons or graves. The inflexible opinions of one group of narcissist against another group of narcissist, does not see the disease because the "ego" cannot let go. Like yourself Donald, I do believe that is an inherent right to object, it's those who carry out their objections with force and fraud that makes it so precarious. Neither good or evil are defining thoughts until they are acted upon. Will building a wall on the southern border keep foreigners out, or keep Americans in. If the natural family does not define "We the people" then anything else is also subjective to the whims of whoever or whatever the "ruling" factions want.

Like Thomas Jefferson in his comments on the Declaration of Independence, you also have a flare that is uniquely American in spirit. If we are all to be reduced to the chattel property of the state, when we can be denied even the private property of our own personal body's and converted to public property, where does it all end? When rogue police officers can carry out the functions of the legislative and the judiciary on the spot, there is a race of "Judge Dredd's" in every geographic location and those Alexandr Solzhenitsyn's who live to tell the tale remind us of our flawed nature as humans. Because I've chosen repentance over reprisal, it's a forgone conclusion that I've retired myself from the machinations of war, but I am still puzzled why people think the same old mistakes are going to remedy the same old problems.

The problem is socialism. The solution is Christian Marriage, the Supremacy of the Law of God, the realization of our dignity as beings made in the Image and Likeness of God having an Eternal Destiny, and the Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

As G. Edward Griffin expressed in one of his videos. That communism is a cover for socialism. Since there is no private spheres of life the "State" is not willing to usurp and invade, they collectively practice CYA to the detriment of the whole of society. I have never witnessed so many bad actors/actress's as I saw in Utah. Like all tyrannies, they naturally feel they have "acquired" the right to cancel natural, nuclear and conventional families like mine. Self hating bigoted whites taking out the poor "White Trash". High class society who are not capable of live and let live, ergo, the military operations have targeted Natural family's, and subsidize the artificial and synthetic. Agenda 21, The Report from Iron Mountain and so many historical benchmarks warning us of their satanic agendas, but like most Americans, I was too busy trying to support my family to pay any attention to politics, and I did not have the "situational awareness" of just how malicious the Mormons can be.

Clyde. I would suggest that Socialism is a cover for Communism (Tyranny) rather than the other way around. Those Bolsheviks never saw the Russians as being equal to themselves. (and weren't Workers of the World uniting either)

It’s disappointing that you have yet to figure out that “black people” are incompatible with civilization. Black people are destroyers of civilization. You will point to the individual exceptions and outliers who are statistical anomalies and respond “Well what about them? They are good and decent people.”

You should be repulsed by “black people”, Don.

There is nothing noble or honorable about your “classic liberal” declaration against the oppression of groups of people. These are not a group of people Don. These are wild savages who have been unleashed into our once civilized society… the long gone former civilized society which you now refer to as America 1.0. You were wrong and your side has been wrong the entire time. Just admit it.

Well, I don't know how much stronger you would expect to be in terms of blasting ghetto culture, Miami. Yes, I don't condemn an entire people, but have pointed out many times that the wildly disproportionate crime rate, as well as academic underachievement, on the part of Blacks must be addressed. I continue to believe that if there were decent Black role models, Black fathers in the home, and a media, government, and corporate world that didn't promote and glamorize the stupidity and violence of ghetto culture, then the average Black would be far more likely to assimilate and be civil. But I did watch a lot of Frank Capra films. Thanks.

It is my opinion you have too much tolerance to a fault for these wild savages who you still refer to as “people.” I do not believe you fully understand the extreme seriousness of this particular problem/issue. Perhaps you never will.

I don't think many would agree with you. I've been called "racist" many times. All life is sacred. We don't have to blame all Blacks for the horrific actions of too many youths, to demand that all preferences stop and they be held accountable to the same rules, laws, and standards of conduct as everyone else.

If you are not listening to Nick Fuentes on Rumble, I am encouraging you to do so. He is the best commentator on current events I’ve ever heard. His analysis of the issues is in depth, detailed and objective. His take on this Austin Metcalf killing is something I hope you will listen to and fully process. I think you will agree with it. I do not agree with you that we shouldn’t blame all blacks for the actions of a few “youths.” The “black community” has done little to nothing to stop this senseless violence. In fact, the “black community” has only encouraged and exacerbated the violence against white people and it has literally fanned the flames of racial animosity and hatred, with all of the looting, rioting, burning and killing which is something you seem to overlook or want to dismiss by giving “them” a pass by repeating those cliched lines such as “not all of them are bad”, “there are some good ones” just to paraphrase your obvious sentiments. I don’t agree that all life is sacred. That pile of useless, worthless, filth who stabbed Austin Metcalf in the heart needs to spend 30 days in the electric chair, in my opinion. You are a devout Roman Catholic like Nick and Nick is devout also. You are a boomer like me. I’m perfectly willing to listen to fresh ideas and perspectives from a Gen Zer such as Nick. I sincerely hope you will also. Nick makes a compelling, truthful and factual case that “THESE PEOPLE HATE US” and “We can no longer live around them until they are held accountable for their violent and criminal behavior.” I think you are alluding to this sentiment as well. Be sure to listen to Nick’s commentary on his April 17, Thursday night show.

The Censorship issue is always a tough one. On the one hand, God is Truth and should never be censored, no matter how unpalatable it should be to some. On the other hand, obvious blasphemy should be censored. (Such as what happened in Topeka Kansas the other day. If Satanists and like ilk want to conduct profanations, they had best do it in their deepest, darkest, most somber dens of iniquity, or face the wrath of a Christian Society.) The same thing applies to pornography. If a person is addicted to the stuff, shame on them. While I would not be in favor of prosecuting a man for viewing pornography, I would definitely go after those producing and selling it. That is not censorship by any stretch of my imagination. The same applies to obscenity on the public airwaves. Obscenity IS hard to define precisely, but definitely includes any gratuitous portrayal of the marital embrace or any perverted variation of it. Obscenity does not include the graphic portrayal of certain elements of the body to get across a valid point, or the portrayal of graphic violence along the same lines. Obviously, it is easy to discern between the informative and the gratuitous.

Next up is our opinions concerning the conduct of kings, presidents, Der Führer, or whatever the current political setting is. On the one hand, detraction can be akin to treason, and rulers have a right to their reputation. On the other hand, it is so easy for the king or president to use his executive power to suppress dissent. In America, cartoonists in particular have been even expected to lampoon political leaders. It is an American Tradition, and one the body politic values highly- or, at least, used to. Moreover, it is easy to worship the latest incarnation of Caesar, and often the fans get lots of perks, financial and otherwise.

All that being said, in today's world censorship is against that which is politically incorrect, while, meanwhile, politicians are allowed to make the most crass comments regarding their peers. Just another aspect of our Complete Clown World.

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope!
