HBO recently ran a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ incomparable novel David Copperfield. It’s hard to mess up a piece of literature like that. Inconceivably, an Indian actor was given the title role. David Copperfield was not an Indian. Until now. All White fictional and historical characters are open to cultural appropriation.

A few years back, the zillionth or so version of another Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, began with someone urinating on the grave of Jacob Marley. And Bob Cratchit was “woke” and married to a Black woman. Who was sexually harassed in #MeToo style, by a lecherous Ebenezer Scrooge. It’s a wonder Tiny Tim wasn’t transgender.

Jimmy Olsen is now a Black character on the Supergirl television series. And he’s no longer a guy everyone kind of makes fun of. In fact, the gorgeous Supergirl has a crush on him. Just sticking to the superhero genre, the wonderful show Smallville featured a Black Pete Ross, the blonde haired best friend of teenaged Clark Kent in the comics. And the entertaining series The Flash boasts a cast that is overwhelmingly Black, down to walk-ons and bit parts, except for the title character himself. Barry Allen’s formerly White love, Iris, is now his Black wife. The police chief is gay married. On the new Batwoman show, the caped crusaderess is a lesbian.

The latest incarnation of Annie cast a Black girl in the starring role. Cinderella is now Black on Broadway. This was following in the tradition started in 1997, when the fairy tale figure was first depicted as Black in a TV movie. In The Shawshank Redemption, they didn’t even bother to change the nickname of Stephen King’s Irish character; Morgan Freeman was chosen over Harrison Ford, Paul Newman, and Clint Eastwood. There is now a Black actor playing The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. And, of course, the bankers’ favorite Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton is currently a hip Black rapper on Broadway.

Disney, a long way removed from the Wonderful World of Living Color, is casting for its first transgender animated character. Sports Illustrated featured two different transgender models in its vaunted swimsuit issue, including a “nonbinary” WNBA player. Both are transgenders of color, making them doubly valuable. One of my favorite childhood books was A Wrinkle in Time. A movie based on the book was made a few years back, and the cast was significantly “diversified,” including a major role for Oprah Winfrey and the heroine converted to half-Black.

Troubled singer Demi Lovato has announced that she is now “nonbinary” and has selected “They” and “We” as her new pronouns of choice. We are seeing more of this in our insane society, and some school systems have banned words like “boy” and “girl,” “he” and she.” The Emperor wearing no clothes doesn’t seem quite a strong enough analogy to describe this utter madness. A writer I deeply admire, Charles Fort, wrote a fledgling autobiography almost a century ago, where he used these kinds of unnatural pronouns to describe himself and his family. Was he a pathfinder?

Independent intellect is not only frowned upon in our “woke” society, it’s smeared as “disinformation.” Or “White Supremacy.” Or “racism.” We have devolved to a level of discourse that would be unacceptable even on the most immature playgrounds of my youth. Race, or more accurately the ghetto “culture” that has destroyed the Black family, is the driving factor here. We’ve all effectively become the studious, well-behaved kids in inner cities, who shudder in fear of being castigated for “acting White.” No one wants to be White now, least of all most White people.

None of this was built by demonic Black conspirators. It was all constructed by elite Whites. The same elites who have created a monstrous disparity of wealth, and a rigged system that makes a mockery of meritocracy and permits very, very little upward mobility. If you can get those you’re conspiring against to turn their frustrations upon each other, they won’t notice the common enemy. Just attribute an inability to advance financially to a “systemic racism” that can never be addressed, instead of a crooked oligarchy. Give them a Black Cinderella or Jimmy Olsen instead.

Apparently, online searches for the mythical Wakanda from the Black Panther film are wildly popular. Why not? Keep hope alive, and all that. A super hero is about the only thing that could save us from the corruption that has rotted out the core of this country at all levels. He could team up with the Black Alexander Hamilton and Flash’s Black wife. Or perhaps the old Negro League Baseball player “Cool Papa” Bell, who was so fast he could hit the light switch and be in bed before the room was dark, according to Satchel Paige.

Ghetto “culture” permeates American culture now. The improper English spoken in the inner cities has been rebranded as the respectable “Ebonics,” and young people of all races are flocking to it. Combined with the spelling shortcuts used in texting, and the mindless fluff on television, this has created a generation that is barely literate. Problems are solved not by reasoning, but by violence. Sucker punching is celebrated. Kindness and empathy are “gay.” Which is odd, because gays are celebrated almost as superheroes themselves by the same culture.

But gays have been superseded on the political correctness meter by transgenders. Feminism has been all but destroyed, since any man can just arbitrarily identify as “female,” and have all the same rights and status. “Woke” feminist J.K. Rowling discovered this last year, when she made the mistake of saying only women can menstruate. Or have babies. That isn’t the right answer, Alex, as the Harry Potter creator found out when almost all of her fellow virtue signalers turned on her.

The mass stupidity isn’t all coming from the ghettos and trailer parks. The curriculum at every public school system is full of politically correct indoctrination, and short on readin’ and writin’. Transgender story hour. Critical race theory. White fragility. Common core math, which has made Orwell’s warning about freedom being the right to say 2 plus 2 equals 4 a dystopian reality. Our tax dollars are paying for “educational” facilities that churn out students who can’t find their own state on a map, but know all the inside baseball on the ridiculous Kardashian family. The Kardashians are like a poster child for modern ‘Murrica; dysfunctional to the core, vapidly materialistic and narcissistic, and completely lacking in morals or scruples.

Honey Boo Boo. Real Housewives. The biggest loser. My 600 pound life. In Mike Judge’s Idiocracy, the one film playing continuously was Ass, which featured a bare male (of course) butt onscreen, and nothing else. Americans have been dumbed down to such a degree that a movie like this could easily be released, without anyone batting an eye. Ow My Balls was the hit show in Idiocracy. How different is that from the Jackass series? Or even America’s Funniest Home Videos, which consisted almost exclusively of people (nearly always males, including children) being injured?

A majority of Americans would be happy to go back to the days of bringing a family picnic to a public hanging. They’d willingly grab the torches and pitchforks and chase whatever Frankenstein’s monster was being demonized by the authorities. The mob mentality is frighteningly real in 2021, and this can be seen especially online, where bullying is so prevalent on social media and in discussion forums. Desensitized and addicted to empty cheap thrills, the American public responds obligingly to every elite psychological cue, like Pavlovian dogs. Just give them a smart phone, and instruct them to take selfies. Lots of selfies.

Our horrific leaders have not only lowered the average IQs of people, but promoted a fast food mindset that has culminated in the average American woman weighing what the average man did fifty years ago. The average man today would have been considered fat fifty years ago. And the tattoos. Just imagine this country thirty years from now, with all those wrinkled grandmas sporting their tramp stamps. What a total package; overweight, stupid, with a nasty attitude. The Ugly American is now literal.

So, all the would be do-gooders like me have to consider the material we have to work with here. It’s like coaching a team full of small, slow players with bad attitudes. When you’re trying to wake up people who have fallen for one transparent lie and psyop after another, the odds are stacked against you.

Dealing with those who’ve drunk the Deep State kool-aid is like teaching a severely developmentally disabled child. You have to dig deep to get through to them at some level. You have to possess great patience, and you have to be grateful for very small victories. Each time someone awakes, it is just like RFK said; sending forth a tiny ripple of hope.

In sports, the world’s most hated athlete- the Trump of the drunk white fan set- Tim Tebow, is making a comeback. Forced to switch to the racially appropriate position of tight end (not running back, which would be logical), Tebow is nevertheless being excoriated by White and Black reporters, players, and fans. It is impossible to fathom the hatred this humble young man engenders in others. Arguably the greatest college player of all time, and a quarterback who led Denver to eight thrilling victories in a row in the only chance he was ever given by the league, Tebow continues to be portrayed as an inept imposter in today’s watered down, laughable NFL.

We are supposed to take “Caitlyn” Jenner seriously, as he/she ponders a run for California governor as a “conservative.” Can transgenderism possibly be a conservative value? Much as the GOP has long accepted virtually any amenable Black off the street as a potential party leader, they appear perhaps willing to extend the same courtesy to transgenders. The plantation masters used to stage fights based on the premise that “my slave can lick your slave.” Will we start to see “my transgender is better than yours?”

Meghan Markle has exploited whatever Black ancestry she has to the max. And now the former Prince Harry has joined her in a crusade against free speech. That will make both of them welcomed by today’s Left, which really, really hates free speech. “Cancel Culture” is the perfect exclamation point for our tyrannical Idiocracy. Getting people fired is fun! Especially when you’re double masked. And socially distanced. We now accept fabulously pampered rich people as “victims,” and criticize poor and working class Whites for their imaginary “privilege.”

So I sit in my quiet, unpopular corner. Part of the smallest minority group in America- the Trump Agnostics. Opposed to both the Left’s authoritarian identity politics, and the Right’s selfish embrace of Ayn Rand. Highly skeptical of the dangerous virus. Opposed to every aspect of the lockdown. Noted nonmember of the Bill Gates Fan Club. Heartsick over the mess corrupt conspirators have made of the greatest form of government ever devised.
